This is an original linocut print, designed, drawn, carved, and printed by hand by me. I am an avid birdwatcher, and Chickadees are one of my favorite birds; they are always in my garden at home. Please meet “Tree Babies”!
Each print is pulled individually, making every one slightly unique. The image features bold, graphic bird forms paired with deep blue trees, framed by a patterned border of foliage and berries. I’m drawn to simple shapes, contrast, and natural forms — this piece plays with balance, symmetry, and negative space.
How it was made • The design was hand-carved into linoleum • Ink was rolled onto the carved block • The image was printed by hand onto paper using a relief printing process Because of this, you may notice small variations in ink texture or pressure — these are part of the beauty of handmade prints and not flaws.
